Working Parts

If anyone is on Facebook and is a writer, I have set up a Disabled Writer’s group but writers without disabilities can join too.

I am atarting to set up a Disabled Writer’s group on Facebook if anyone wants to join or and support my group. I am joining poetry groups to see if I can get members for them and they could get members for my group. My lastest poem is Sorry John, If I hurt you. I want get in touch with other writer’s groups too.

I am learning to please the people I am I writing for, yesterday I had a rough idea what the children wanted to see. Whereas Monday I felt as many people did very much in dark. The only thing I will say I am more a writer than an actor but I’m happy to write stories, plays and etc for people to act. When it comes to acting I need the self – streem perform in front of people yet I have done Drama plays for Mencap LD awareness, presantions and etc. I think it can be nervs when your trying to do something right infront of loads of people. I guess another way to learn is finding out what kind of characters my cast would like to play not only ideas to give me what to write but the cast, the people who are watching what I have written being acted. It’s hard to expalin and it’s hard to please everyone. I guess will learn more by the time the week is over so I am very willing to carry on.

I have had a meeting with Our Shout already about it they seem keen on the changes but we still have a lot to talk about to be sure so we will talk more in our next meeting on the 23rd November 2010. Lucy has left Mencap and Louise Smith is doing her job now. We need to make some changes because of been short on members and Lucy having left. Lucy is now working for a Self – Advocacy gropu called Changing Our Lives.

I am hoping to link Our Shout with Accesss All areas Now! to support Our Shout to train non – disabled people and services around Learning Disability awareness, advertise for new members for Our Shout and train to be where the members of Our Shout is today and hopfully in the long term future create a service that support all areas of people with disabilities’ lives.
