On Friday Dec 3 you are very welcome to join people and groups from the Wolverhampton Disability Network. Together they will be celebrating International day of disabled people. They will be watching a wealth of films by disabled people including the Oskar Bright film festival, which has brought films by learning disabled people to the attention of the nation, winning many awards along the way. If you get there in the morning you can get involved in making a banner for your disability group. Groups who are involved include Our time, Our talk and Neil Docherty Centre. A big thank you to Vicky Gunn for supporting the banner making workshops which are currently touring Wolverhampton. If you are not already involved then join us at 10.30 am till 1.00 pm for a banner making workshop. which has been made possible by the Wolverhampton Disability Network and promises to be the highlight of the day if you want to participate rather than spend all your time in the cinema! At lunchtime their will be a tasty lunch and a unique presentation of song by Expressions Choir, who will be just back from performing in Liverpool at Dadafest – the international festival of deaf and disability arts. The fun starts at 10.30 till 3pm. Contact Kevin Bailey for info. Why not join working parts and send him a message!! or try disabilitynetwork@1voice.org.uk

Catch the No Limits show at the bonded warehouse, Stourbridge on Friday October 1st. They have made Syd Rivers play “Sherlock Holmes and the case of the Aquilla Diamond” their own, mixing improvisations with scripted scenes. Working Parts supported No Limits in 2009 to gain funding from Awards for All for a year long drama project. Have a look at their Facebook fanpage to catch their latest video’s and get a sense of what to expect, it will be far from elementary! Working Parts are currently supporting the young people who were involved in the drama group to plan for next year.

Potent! Personal! Political! Poetic! All the things we could have been is a no holds barred expose of the arduous journey into adulthood and life choices for Disabled People. Using poetry, song and spoken word this performance will make you laugh, it will make you cry, and it will certainly make you question who makes the directions in your life. With BSL interpretation.
